| Alexander Millar Calendar, Wall, Browntrout
Enjoy this beautiful 2006 wall calendar featuring the art of Alexander Millar. Alexander Millar was born in 1960 in the small mining community of Springside, Scotland. In 1976 he left Springside and setup in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. According to Millar, Newcastle-upon-Tyne had, and still has, its fair share of characters locally known as Gadgies which fed him much inspiration. Millar taught himself art, and after study and practice, he developed his own distinctive style. Being an artist, he referred to images remembered from childhood for inspiration. He used the local Tyneside Gadgies as models in his paintings. This style and subject matter brings Millars paintings their distinctiveness. Its a graceful, whimsical and moving walk through a choreographed street ballet full of solitary figures, each of which are utterly charming. This 2006 Wall calendar was published by Browntrout.
