Murphy's Law, "If anything can go wrong, it will", was conceived at Edwards Air Force Base in 1949. Captain Edward A. Murphy was working on an engineering experiment called Air Force Project MX981 to see how much sudden deceleration a person can withstand in a crash. After finding a transducer wired incorrectly, he cursed the technician responsible and said, "If there is any way to do it wrong, he'll find it." The project manager had kept a list of laws and labeled this one "Murphy's Law". This 2006 Wall calendar was published by Portal Publications.
