| Mrs. Delany's Flowers Calendar, Wall, Pomegranate
The luscious flower collages - including horse chestnut, opium poppy, yellow loosestrife, grand magnolia, and China rose - in this calendar are botanically accurate and made from hundreds of pieces of cut colored paper. The works were created by Mrs. Mary Delany (1700 - 1788), who began when she was 72 years old, using matte-finished paper first washed with India ink. She cut the plants to life size, by eye, from paper from China, from wallpaper, or from her own paper that she dyed. Mrs. Delany proved that there is no limit to human creativity. This 2006 Wall calendar was published by Pomegranate.
