| Maxfield Parrish Calendar, Wall, Pomegranate
Maxfield Parrish employed a slow, delicate, and labor-intensive technique to achieve the crystalline hyper clarity of his paintings: rather than paint in opaque oils, he built up layers of transparent pigment. Their reaction with one another led to extraordinary subtlety of palette, and, often, to an effect as if the painting was backlit. This 2006 Wall calendar was published by Pomegranate.
