Claude Monet (1840-1926) was one of the greatest artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. Along with his fellow Impressionists, Renoir, Pissaro, and Sisley, Monet devoted himself to painting en plein air, capturing on canvas the fleeting impressions of light and atmosphere. His long and productive career culminated in the series of water lily paintings done at Giverney, where he settled in 1883. This work remains the ultimate expression of Impressionism and also heralded the development of abstract art. This 2006 Wall calendar was published by Portal Publications.
