Romain de Tirtoff adopted the name Erte, the french pronunciation of the initials R and T, when he moved from Russia to Paris in 1912. An Art Deco master, Erte's flamboyant illustrations graced the cover of hundreds of Harper's Bazaar magazines. A celebrated fashion illustrator and set designer, Erte (1892 - 1990) outfitted countless stage and film superstars. Late in his long career, Erte shifted his energy to serigraphs, where again he would prove to be a genius. This stunning 2006 Erte wall calendar celebrates the diverse work of one of the truly great artists of the 20th century. This 2006 Wall calendar was published by Browntrout.
