It's just one of the hundreds of examples of misheard song lyrics compiled by author Gavin Edwards and assembled in this calendar in the hopes of eliminating the annoyance of people blatantly belting out incorrect words to popular songs.Edwards thoughtfully provides the misheard lyric, the song title and artist, and the real lyric on each page. Many pages also include singers' birthdays and drawings illustrating the incorrect lyric. For the record, the actual words to the Steppenwolf classic happen to be, "I like smoke and lightning."
