| The Great American Landscape Calendar, Wall, Pomegranate
The Hudson River School was America's first distinctly American art movement. Sharing a mystical vision of their brave new land's limitless beauty, artists such as Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Cole, and Martin Johnson Heade painted landscapes of great drama - mountains, sunsets, storms, crashing surf - or of abundance and serenity. The School is well represented here; images include Bierstadt's California Spring, Thomas Moran's Grand Canyon with Rainbow, Frederic Edwin Church's Twilight, Catskill Mountains, and John George Brown's On the Hudson. This 2006 Wall calendar was published by Pomegranate.
