| Faces of the Buddha Calendar, Wall, Amber Lotus Publishing
The mysterious, tranquil half-smile of the Buddha tells us he is awake, that he has defeated ignorance and penetrated the ultimate nature of suffering. Over the millennia, artists from many different cultures have attempted to portray the spirit of the Buddha's enlightenment in sculpture. This has been artfully captured in the Faces of the Buddha 2006 wall calendar by Alison Wright's stunning photographs of Buddhist statues from India, Southeast Asia and Nepal. The images are paired with evocative text from The Dhammapada, or "Sayings of the Buddha," translated by Thomas Byrom. This 2006 Wall calendar was published by Amber Lotus Publishing.
