Folk artist Lisa D. Cain is a native of Canton, Mississippi and specializes in painting scenes depicting Southern life including church scenes, farm life, baptismal pictures and pictures depicting grandmothers and grandfathers in a positive role. "Painting allows me to relax and to express the beauty that I find in the simplicity of life. The people that I grew up with, my parents, grandparents, church members, cousins and friends are an indication of who I am. I realize the value and the importance of others.
